A Seattle native and graduate of Seattle Central Community College, I started designing for my dolls when I was 7 using my great-grandmothers scrap basket. It was a done deal!! 

From there I taught myself to sew, making my first outfit from a pattern at 10. I started working at Nancy's Sewing Basket in 1981. I have had my own lines - childrens clothing and accessories, have published a line of Historic Clothing Patterns, and designed for theater. Most recently, I partnered with Neodandi, a line of Avant Garde clothing for men and women. We were voted "Best Avant Garde Independent Designers" in Seattle Magazine, 2005. As well as managing Nancy's Sewing Basket, in 2009 I will be launching my own line of non-traditional wedding gowns under the label, "Branches of Lilies"
